Kentia Palm

Kentia Palms grow slowly and gracefully, typically reaching heights of 3–6 metres in outdoor landscapes, with a crown spread of 2–3 metres. Their soft, arching fronds grow from a slender, upright trunk, creating a layered and refined silhouette. Unlike more rigid palms, Kentia Palms have a relaxed form that suits formal, tropical, or coastal garden styles. They are commonly planted as single specimens but can also be grouped for a fuller, multi-stemmed look. Their compact footprint and upright habit make them a popular choice for narrow garden beds, entryways, or low-light areas.

Kentia Palms thrive in part shade to filtered sunlight and are especially well suited to protected, outdoor areas or interior use. They prefer well-drained, slightly rich soil and benefit from regular watering during their establishment period (6–12 months). Once settled, they are low-maintenance, tolerating dry spells and coastal conditions. Fertilise once or twice a year with a gentle palm fertiliser to maintain lush green growth. Pruning is minimal, limited to removing old fronds at the base. These palms are naturally pest-resistant and ideal for relaxed, low-care garden designs.
