Kentia Palms (container grown)

Kentia Palms grow slowly with a single slender trunk but are often planted in small clusters for a fuller, layered look. Over time, they reach around 6–10 metres tall in warm climates. Their fronds arch gently and create light shade underneath, making them great for filling sheltered corners or adding height and greenery to subtropical gardens.

Plant in well-drained soil and water regularly until established. Kentias like mulch to keep roots cool and benefit from a feed in spring. Remove old fronds close to the trunk to keep the palm neat. Once settled in, they handle coastal winds and a bit of sun if grown that way from young.
